Huh, I had no idea that if you were in a certain income bracket you could pay 0% on capital gains… or that that is going away. Huh.
I wonder if #2′s dislike of anime is from the male-dominated stuff making it over to the US initially… perhaps US folks were still stuck in the comics = manly men and impossible poses for scantily clad gravity-defying females… whereas I got hooked on direct-from-Japan fansubs in college. (Oh Kenshin…) This CNN article talks about why manga is so popular with women compared to American comics. (Hint: women don’t have to do impossible poses in manga…)
hi how are you with a hilarious armstrong conversation
little professor asks what IS it with obligatory Jack the Ripper cameos? I’ve been wondering too!
ramblecrunch updated her blog… they’re back and off again.

Enjoyed the manga article. A couple of posts ago you said you watched some “harem manga”. I googled it but I am curious what you watch. Sorry if this is off topic. I am intrigued to know what harem anime a femonist watches. I don’t really know what qualifies a harem anime either.

It is one of my guilty pleasures. Love Hina, for example. Hand maid may is another. Oh, and Ranma, of course. Though I like the other kind as well, say Ouran High School Host Club. Ranma is hind of both with all the girls liking Ranma and all the boys liking Akane.
(Harem anime is when tons of members of the opposite sex, and maybe a few of the same sex, inexplicably have crushes on the main character in the anime. Some are better than others.)

not usually
unless it’s an ecchi anime like hanayukio maids, but I don’t watch much of that… mostly limited to panty and cleavage shots, which, meh

We paid 0% in capital gains taxes last year. I’m bummed that might be going away, though who knows how the fiscal cliff with resolve itself… But we definitely ‘deserve’ our place in the 15% income tax bracket – no kids or itemized deductions!

You know, I’ve never really gotten into manga which is totes bizarre considering I love anime and I love to read more than I love to watch stuff. Hmmmmmm

I HAD to find out how Fruits Basket ended. And Kenshin as well. (Though I don’t like the Kenshin ending as much as I did Fruits Basket– I was surprised that they ended Fruits Basket with her going with the guy I wanted her to be with rather than the one I thought she would.)

I still have to finish that series. I didn’t even think of watching anime this weekend which… duh.
