Grumble #1

This morning I spent over an hour looking stuff up for and talking with a reporter from the NYTimes.   After I finished, he looked me up in the NYTimes archives and realized someone had already written the story he wanted to write.   Ah well.  One cannot always be quoted in the NYTimes.   Sometimes one just talks to a reporter and it goes nowhere.

    If that stopped authors or scriptwriters, our entertainment industry would dry up. In fact, if people just stopped riffing off Jane Austen bookshelves would seem bare. Hopefully the reporter found something else to write about.
