This is a really interesting idea: Write A House, which fixes up distressed houses in Detroit and gives them to writers for free so they can live and write in Detroit.  I don’t know if they’ll make it on to my list of causes for donations but it’s a cool approach to several issues at once!

    I love the idea of a whole village of writers living together in Detroit. That would be the quietest neighborhood in the city.

    I really don’t like April Fool’s day at all. I mostly avoided the internet all day and debated posting my net worth update at 12:01 am on the 2nd instead of the evening of the 1st.
