This video because I am a huge nerd. Also this video (NSFW!) because it is the funniest thing in the whole world. Kanye’s song Power. Albums and songs by Monty Python, MC Frontalot (quite a lot of songs), U2, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir (singing Handel), Kathleen Battle, Michelle Branch, OAR, old Madonna, TMBG, Jessie J, Jonathan Coulton, the Muppets, P!nk, the Police, the Lion King, and the complete soundtrack of Labyrinth.
Podcasts about books and video games and other nerdy stuff and general stuff (some from maximumfun.org). A photo of my cat. A photo of my coolest pair of shoes. A cartoon.
#2 does not have an ipod. It is very sad. Hir DH mostly keeps audio books on his mp3, and the occasional wait wait don’t tell me podcast or splendid table podcast. We outnerd #1. NPR nerdz!
What about you?

I use my smartphone as a music player. Albums and songs by Janelle Monae, Kimbra, Gotye, The Mountain Goats, The Like, The Young Veins, Grizzly Bear, Austra, She and Him, Belle and Sebastian, Sufjan Stevens, Atoms for Peace… mostly indie pop stuff I guess? Podcast-wise lots of Welcome to Night Vale and occasionally This American Life.

Mine is loaded with depressing 80’s and 90s rock because I am too lazy to load anything new on there!

Oh man. We had a rental car this weekend on a trip we took and it had satellite radio… so we listed to the “Hair Band” station. It was awesome. I love that stuff.

Another non-Ipod-er here. Well, we have a “household” one (it’s really DH’s) that’s about the same age as our kid — the kind you move your finger in a circle to access the music (the ipod, not the kid :) ). DH has put our entire music library on his phone and I can access it there too, though I usually don’t. Mostly an NPR listener here. Though I do occasionally put an audiobook on my iphone.

Haha, by which I mean, on my android phone. Except for the -pod, we own no i-‘s.

Ween, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa, Butthole Surfers, TMBG, Beatles, Beck, Primus, The B-52’s, (and literally a thousand other artists, but the listed are what I have the most of. Right now I’m into Built To Spill, M83, and REM). On my iPod Classic, and as much as will fit on the 64GB SD chip on my Android phone.

I like your musical tastes.

I’ve had Kevin Olusola on repeat lately. And Elliot Smith. DC won’t tolerate anything not peppy so we have dance type music on my phone as well.

I’ve got two ipods (one more than 10 years old!) and my iphone. All loaded with music. Beatles, folk, whatever. Also RadioLab podcasts and Coffee Break Spanish.
I can’t upload stuff to my 40 gig old as dirt ipod anymore, as that is a firewire ipod. Sad. But it still works, so I listen to a lot of music I listened to in high school when I hook that up.

About a week’s worth of mostly dance-friendly music that is also good for road trips (oddly not an entirely overlapping set of categories, heh).

I use my 64GB iPhone as an iPod these days. I have lots of different artists and genres of music, but only one musical: Book of Mormon. I’ve recently been adding stuff from CDs I check out at the library, but I wouldn’t call it the most recent releases of anything. I don’t listen to music radio very much so I’m not up on the latest stuff. I’ve been getting the CDs so I can familiarize myself with the artist options at the music festival coming up this weekend here in Napa, so those CDs have been things like Imagine Dragons, Foster the People, and Robert Plant.
I’ve been adding some podcasts lately so I have spoken word things to listen to during my upcoming travels. TED Talks are usually great for listening/viewing on a flight. I couldn’t get into Welcome to Night Vale, but I do like most of what I hear on The Moth. This American Life isn’t as compelling to me as it used to be, sadly. I also like listening to Savage Love because some of it is so odd it’s interesting. Actually, I am amused by many podcasts about sex like Guys we f***d and Sex Nerd Sandra, so I’m loading up the phone with them.

Ooh, I should get some Imagine Dragons music. I forgot that I like them.

I have no iPod and really don’t want one.

I don’t have an iPod either. I use Pandora more than anything. Lately I’ve been fiddling with Spotify but I like Pandora better. I have a Kindle but mostly stick to paper books.
