Ask the grumpies: If you could only sit on one piece of furniture for a year…

Leah asks:

If you could pick one of the following pieces of furniture to be the only one you sit in for a year, which would you choose? Rocking chair, chaise lounge, office chair, glider, or wingback

Given how much time I spent at the computer, it would have to be the office chair.

Is bed an option?  I like beds…

Grumpy Nation, what would you pick?

How long am I allowed to sit when getting out of bed in the morning? Normally after I sit up it takes me about five minutes to summon the will to stand.

I guess in order to preserve my back health it would have to be the office chair. We have a really nice big rocking chair that’s awfully tempting though.

    Also this: https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/chaise-lounge-or-chaise-longue

Which brings me to one of my more recently-developed pet peeves: internet articles should have the posting date on them!

From those options, I would pick the office chair but otherwise I would pick our awesome sectional!

It would have to be office chair, purely for the sake of not killing my neck when working. How drab.

But if I was picking for a #2, I would pick my office couch. The back cushioning isn’t great, but I love curling up on it, and the seat cushions are solid enough that I could put cups and/or plates on them. Plus the times I get to sit on it, I’m usually by myself and doing Whatever the Heck I Want, which does not consist of all the mommy, wife, and good worker stuff. (The work lead-up to the holidays the family stuff during the holidays, and now post-holiday work stress may have me more than a little burned out. I want a vacation from both my job and my family at the moment. Love both, just could use a break.)

If it doesn’t have to be a piece of furniture that I already own, I’d pick the perfect glider that would accommodate my laptop so I could work AND be comfortable. This reminds me I have to replace my office chair so I can be more comfortable.

I’d pick our couch 100%. I’ve slept on this thing, taken conference calls, eaten breakfast lunch and dinner, and played many hours of video games on it. In fact, I’m sitting on it now! :)

I like hard chairs, so my wooden, unpadded dining-room chair.

From that list, I’d have to pick the chaise because it can be used as chair or bed. If it could be any one piece from all the actual pieces DW and I have, it would be our pullout sofa because it can be sofa, chaise, or bed as needed.

  10. SP Says:

Bed. But from that list, definitely chaise lounge.

  11. Steph Says:

Out of those options? The chaise lounge.

My college had a fireplace room with Womb Chairs in it, and it is now my goal in life to own one. They are so comfy, I could sit in one (even while doing work) forever.

  12. Leah Says:

ha, I have my own tag? Wow!

Mine is chaise lounge, 100% and forever. I can lay on it, I can sit on it, I can sleep on it. Perfection.
