The fascism in Florida and all over the country really is so infuriating. Some days it’s hard to process that this is what we’re living with today and that there’s not a lot we can do to fight effectively. I’ve asked friends in Florida what we can do to support their fight and the answer is just depressing.

The atlantic had an article today saying we should just ignore it and we’ll be happy. But you CAN’T ignore fascism. You HAVE to fight it. We can certainly fight to keep it out of our own states and we can donate to causes and write post-cards for the Wisconsin Supreme Court and support LGBTQ+ kids wherever we can.
Brooklyn Public Library (the place that’s allowing any kid to get a library card to read their virtual books) is facing extreme budget cuts and needs people to sign their petition. https://www.bklynlibrary.org/standup/contact
A lot of people can do a lot of little things. If we give up, then this rot spreads and we become Poland in WWII.

NO we can’t ignore it!! Sigh. It never feels like anything we do is going to be substantial enough to matter, but we still have to try.
Are non-Brooklyn folks ok to fill out that petition? It looks like it wants a borough. I put it in my link love in case I have any Brooklyn readers.
