We’ve been laughing a lot this week. And not just because something has snapped with the end of the semester stress.
The incomparable Donna Freedman will make you laugh out loud with this story of her recent trip to Alaska for a bachelor’s auction.
Protecting your time. A how-to from Worst Prof Ever.
A trio of problems with big (or small) houses posts. Money Reasons, Everyday Tips, and Step Away from the Mall.
The title on this sunset by Scalzi also made us laugh out loud. Also the first two comments set off a second round of LOL.
Reverberating all over the internets. Naturally we like the cranky posts best.
We made it into this week’s Carnival of Personal Finance.
Some fashion dos and don’ts for undergrads, courtesy of The Clutter Museum. Also #2 wants her boots. #1 could not care less unless they’re really comfy.
I’m glad I’m not teaching fruit studies next semester. But Academic Cog seems excited about it. I prefer less introspective courses. Mine are more like nuts and bolts and we study why you need a washer and how hard it is to find washers or to implement them in practice. Luckily everybody hates teaching nuts and bolts.
Oh lord the not family friendly comments on this one. Or perhaps I mean the rather *too*-family-friendly comments. Ah CPP, you have such a following!
The interblogs have been buzzing in their ideological ways, complaining that Obama is destroying the country for being either too liberal or too conservative *at the same time*. We favor this article from the NYTimes by David Brooks.

Aw, thanks. You guys need to come up and join us in Talkeetna next year.
Of course, they may not be ready for that. Ever.

It must be true that some women like bad boyz. (Especially if they’re already married.)

Thanks for the mention!
I like the other two stories of the trio too :)
